WOMEN ENLIGHTENMENT CAMPS

WOMEN ENLIGHTENMENT CAMPS:

These camps are conducted to inform women about their rights as consumers and also to provide essential information about nutrition, energy saving, etc., as well as about the various health-related schemes run by the government.

Eligibility: NGOs associated with various charitable trusts or co-operative societies and who have been involved in women’s welfare activities for the last three years. Approval would be given for not more than three such camps in a year. A grant of Rs1500/- per camp would be approved. Each camp should have a minimum attendance of 50 women.

WOMEN ENLIGHTENMENT CAMPS

These centres are set up to provide essential appropriate and speedy legal aid in social issues of dowry, domestic violence, maintenance, marital discord and divorces.

Eligibility: NGOs associated with various charitable trusts or co-operative societies and who have been involved in women’s welfare activities for the last three years. A grant of Rs.1,00,000/- per year would be approved based on the table below.

CRECHE:

These crèches are provided to children of up to 6 years of age, whose mothers are working in cities/villages as employees/entrepreneurs/labourers.

Eligibility: NGOs associated with various charitable trusts or co-operative societies and who have been involved in women’s welfare activities for the last three years. An annual grant of Rs.10,000/- per crèche would be approved.

These awards are instituted to encourage women entrepreneurs who have attained remarkable success in their businesses in a particular year. A sum of Rs. 25,000/- will be awarded.

Eligibility: Prospective awardees should have been domiciled and working in Gujarat for the previous 5 years

b. WOMEN WELFARE AWARD

These awards are instituted to encourage voluntary organisations and individuals working in the area of women’s welfare. A sum of Rs.1,00,000/- in the case of voluntary organisations and a sum of Rs. 50,000/- in case of individuals would be awarded. Every year one voluntary organisation and one individual would be selected.

• Eligibility: Voluntary organisations and individuals

DOCUMENTATION AND PUBLISHING:

Any publication or documentation pertaining to women’s welfare.

• Eligibility: Voluntary organisations, charitable trusts or cooperative societies and who have been involved in such activities for the last three years. Approvals would be on a case-to-case basis after due diligence.

YOUNG WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL:

These cells are especially created to address the various issues and questions pertaining to girls and women between 13 and 20 years of age.

• Eligibility: Voluntary organisations, charitable trusts or cooperative societies that have been involved in women’s welfare activities for the last five years. A grant of Rs.30,000/- per year would be approved based on the table below.

GENDER SENSITISATION:

Training camps are organised through voluntary organisations to sensitise and make aware persons in the society, especially those working in various government and non-government organisations involved in women’s welfare and development, towards crime and violence against women.

• Eligibility: Voluntary organisations, charitable trusts or co-operative societies who have been involved in women’s welfare activities.

WORKING WOMEN HOSTEL:

This scheme facilitates the creation of accommodation for women employees, entrepreneurs or labourers.

• Eligibility: Such a hostel should accommodate a minimum of 15 working women, each with a monthly income of not more than Rs.15,000/-. A sum of not more than Rs 5,00,000/- can be approved for construction expenses. In case the building is rented an annual sum of Rs. 50,000/- can be granted towards rent on submission of appropriate documents.
